I like how December is like a catch up month for 1)Family 2)Homework. To be honest, I haven't really spent a lot of time with friends.Christmas was pleasant, then we had Eddie's 21st which was good then today we went down to Pasir Ris park for another family gathering. Besides these three big days, they were filled with gaps of these car rides to makan places to fill on hawker/Asian food before 2/5 family go overseas. Playing Bananagrams, (got the idea from Eve, who talked about how addictive the game was. So I got the game for Eddie) Played it a couple of times and it's fun.

I didn't stay up last night to count down, but I've been having these quiet retreats in my mind. I feel guilty for not keeping in touch with people, but it doesn't bother me on a daily basis. Then again, I'm not very good keeping long distance conversations with people and I guess when I'm so 'busy' it just keeps me occupied and don't have to wander off thinking of other things. Besides people, I have been neglecting my Faith and I feel pretty empty and lost.

I will do my best to recall the trip.

28th November: Left for Florida. Stopped at Tokyo and Washington before flying off to Jacksonville. Reached in the evening, had dinner at Wendy's.

29th November: Historical tour of St. Augustine: Castillo de San Marcos Learning about coquina, and how they used that to build strong walls, and the angle of defence. We went sight seeing for the rest of the day, where we would make these occasional stops and our guide would explain what certain things meant. We went for dinner at Mrs O'Conners which was tucked inside this 'Stepford wives'/'Desperate housewives' area. Dinner was amazing, and so was the company. Met a few of the Stanton students (from the leadership class) and while we leaving. The night sky was just beautiful. Picture this glowing ring, and the stars just shining brightly. AMAZZZZZING.

30th November: First day in school. Just had a walk around school and briefed on the school, meeting more students. Went shopping at a factory outlet. Wasn't very satisfied because all the women clothes were all winter season and not something I'd use in Singapore, but nevertheless managed to grab good prices on other products.

1st December: Second day @ SPC. Had so much fun @ Drama, Spanish, English, history + science classes. I was really impressed with how learning was catered to them, and how they loved lessons so much. Spanish lesson was fun cause they were talking about sandwiches and the different fillings they wanted and what they had for breakfast. Although they did have a textbook system, I thought how they learnt was more useful than how we learnt Chinese. I mean does anyone my age/level know what they eat in breakfast in Chinese? Cereal? Nutella? Peanut butter sandwiches. Drama was really cool cause they were doing a musical item on Lizzie Borden. ^^ We missed quite a bit of history, and they had to make an announcement for us because we had to some project and had to leave school early. Went for dinner @ Joe's crabs shack Excellent food, music, service and ambiance. Mr McKnight the English literature teacher entertained us with his quirky magic tricks and ended it on a high note which made us reflect over life.

2nd December: Last day @ Stanton; classes as per normal. They were singing Christmas carols in Spanish ~ Feliz Navida. James and Keith joined the morning crew and gave the news which was pretty cool although we managed to come up with more things to laugh at James. Speaking of which, it's pretty cool how instead of having morning assemblies they have screen live broadcast of school's news. Which Zi Jing found it uber cool and wishes we had it in ACJC too. That be amazing, but Mrs Chan was like "noooooo, I want to see of you in the morning..." :) Played more four square, talked a lot more and took even more photographs with Jia Jun's camera. (And now I'm so into it I'm considering saving up for my own camera) Sang our cheers and had ultimate hug time ~Mc'Huggin. Went to town square later to shop, better choices but more expensive. Then we went for dinner with a few students from Stanton who came down :) Fun fun fun.

3rd December: Paxon School, Darnell Cookman + North Florida U. Packed day but still good. DC was pretty amazing because they have 8/9th graders learning how medical situations through their curriculum.

4th December: NASA + more shopping. NASA IS HUGE. I was very moved with how so many people have tried to make it to space and it is literally heart warming seeing how they've managed to reach limits beyond the sky.

5th December: Epcot Centre: Disney Yes Programme, Gforce and Test track were my favourite rides + walking around with Renaldy and Keith; talking while visiting countries. It was a good business strategy, selling all these different products from the respective countries without having to go there. Fireworks that night were amazing, beautiful. I was in awe, mesmerized with its colour. I'll put the pictures up once Jia Jun gets them from Mdm.

6th December: Magic Kingdom. We saw the Jo bro's. *highlight of the day* Yeah right. They were there, but just going around the whole theme park with Dorothy, Ee leng, Jasmine, Zi jing was pretty exciting. Splash mountain, space mountain + teacups were the best. Just us 5 girls squeezing into a teacup trying to spin and whirl our way through was the best laugh. I remember Ee leng saying how the funniest part was how we mananged to fit into the cup. Packed day~

7th December: Morning flight out.

9th December: Reached Singpore @ Midnight. The flight was draining, and towards the end I swear my heart was racing cause the plane went through quite a turbulence. Played cards so much the air steward made fun of us and talked and talked and talked.

Met wonderful people, made great friends from Florida (+Lou the bus driver, he's got soul) So blessed ~~ Besides spending those days out, just in the hotel or travelling in the bus was great. Jasmine was my room mate, and a very wonderful one she is too. Ah, the days following the trip was quite amusing. Just reflecting on the photographs taken and how most of us were all pretty jet lagged and talking to one another in the wee hours of the morning.

CCA-AB and then Council camp. Amazing :) I've been so blessed to be a part of both camps. Thank you ~ Been very reflective over issues regarding netball, council, work and personal matters. God has indeed come into my wandering soul. During a time of weakness and fatigue, He lifts me up. He lifts all of us. Florida tomorrow; Excited :)

I've just spent a good 2 hours at least on the computer looking at food blogs. I want to try them all. I want to organise my 'Favourites' folder on my internet browser and work my way down. These were very pretty. I want to try the Yoghurt Strawberry Ice cream! :P Busy busy busy. But I really should get focused on work too, and training. Fit fit fit, fun fun fun.

Aunty.J and Ting are leaving on Friday, migrating to Canada. *Can't wait to go over after A's. Spent this evening at Grandma's house: Cards, Dinner, the usual escapade to find either Coffee bean or Starbucks nearby. Haven't been over in forever, and just seeing the familiar faces sometimes makes me feel as if I'm ticking it off my list, that doesn't exist. I don't know. Family is complicated, and just embracing the reality the relatives, I'm not sure what it all means. Family ties.

I've yet to grasp what we've become and what will become in the following years. Literally moving apart. I don't know what we look forward to when we come together during these family meet ups, what we all want out of it. It's a fact, that we are related by blood and are just there. But what does this whole unit truly mean? I doubt we'll have those picnics at East coast or Pasir ris anymore.

We've growing older, wanting different things. Wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, babies. Just thinking about my relatives here and how we're all moving away(sooner or later) makes me think about my other relatives in England and how to place this kinda of relationship. Meet up in a few years, lucky if one year. Small talk, things in common? I'm not very sure.

Eddie was talking about moving away from ideas and interests, where maybe and probably in the future. Those family holidays might not happen, how the three of us might have different ideas on an ideal holiday. How we would want to spend it together? I don't know.

I'm still looking forward to the idea of Africa, cause Dad's friend Bill is there and Faheema, a friend that we seemed to have made on holiday in Queenstown, New Zealand. #Which I would love to go back to, I love New Zealand. It's beauty is remarkable. But like Eddie pointed out, there are other beauties to discover, hidden in the little cracks of Asia.

She keeps talking about Laos, maybe next year we could go up, or maybe a little road trip some place. *Cross fingers* She gets her driving license soon :)
PR had our sub committee outing yesterday which was calming, the atmosphere although rather exciting was definitely fun and amazing. Although the food may not have been the best, the company was best. Laughing and coming up with interesting ideas for the future of PR. The future looks promising. We have our class gathering on Monday evening, and I guess it'll be good to meet them.

I was thinking today, like how much we will actually get to spend or talk during these holidays. How good a friend have we actually become? Would it say much if we didn't even share a hello or a conversation during this holiday period and somehow get back into routine with school next year? I don't know. Guess it depends on how much effort one puts into friendships.
I'm rather excited about Florida (> school camps)

So much so much. I don't even know how to process these thoughts, and plans for this year and the following years to come. \

It's not always about what people do for you, but what you can do for them.
We were talking about this last week, and I wasn't sure If I'd be my own friend. Could we ever like ourselves?

You wonder sometimes why people are your friends. They made a choice. Most of the time a good one, presumably.

What do people see in me? Everyone has their own views.

I've learnt appearances aren't the only thing.

I feel helpless.

I've been disappointed, and truly surprised with friends.

Grateful, blessed.

I feel inadequate, not doing enough - unable to provide.Not only to my friends, but family.

November's around the corner. Everything's moving so fast.

I hope I still get to go to Florida even though there's recently been an increase in swine flu cases there.

I felt like I went through today without any thoughts. A mad rush. I didn't like it. Not able to understand and think about my thoughts and actions.

I'm part of the Adhoc in charge of Orientation next year, training's going to start soon and school's coming to a close. I'm going to miss the J2's. It feels weird, almost insufficient to not see them. To bump into them at the corridoors and say hello.

I can't seem to think in coherrent sentences, but this is what I feel. Maybe tomorrow, I'll link everything together.
